Comedian Bill Cosby, who was released from prison in 2021, apparently wants to get back on stage. Apparently he’s planning a tour.

After Bill Cosby (85) was released from prison in the summer of 2021, the comedian and actor is now apparently planning a return to the stage. He wants to go on tour again in 2023, as Cosby is said to have explained in a radio interview on “WGH Talk”.

He thinks he can be a version of Bill Cosby that his audience knows the 85-year-old said, according to a report by “Variety”.. A spokesman for Cosby has confirmed to the industry magazine that the comedian is aiming to start a tour in spring or summer.

Lawsuits against Cosby

More than 60 women have leveled allegations against the comedian and actor, who became famous as a father figure of sorts for playing Cliff Huxtable on the sitcom The Cosby Show, in the wake of the #MeToo movement. Many of the allegations were time-barred, and Cosby had also rejected them. In 2018, he was finally sentenced to three to ten years in prison in a case of sexual assault. He was released in 2021 after the verdict was overturned due to a procedural error.

In June 2022, Cosby was found guilty in a civil trial in California of having sexually abused a 16-year-old girl more than 45 years ago. According to “Variety” became the former Hollywood star ordered to pay a $500,000 fine.

In early December 2022, Cosby was again sued by five women. He is accused of sexual assault and sexual abuse. The Adult Survivors Act has been in force in the US state of New York since the end of November. That was the only way the lawsuit was possible.
