This Tuesday, June 21, the jury of a California court found Bill Cosby, icon of the small screen, guilty of having sexually assaulted a teenager in 1975 when she was 16 years old. The victim, Judy Huth, now 64, will receive $500,000 in damages.

This civil decision puts an end to one of the last legal proceedings against the famous comedian and producer, now 84, who has been accused of various sexual assaults by dozens of women.

Convicted in another case in 2018 in the state of Pennsylvania, Bill Cosby was released in June 2021 following an overturning of his conviction for procedural flaw. The comedian did not attend the hearings that took place for the past two weeks in a Santa Monica court.

During the hearings, Judy Huth claimed that Bill Cosby, who for years played the ideal father on The Cosby Show, had made him drink a large quantity of alcohol before bringing him to the Playboy Mansion of his friend Hugh Hefner . He then sexually assaulted her in one of the residence’s bedrooms.

The defenders of the American actor denied any aggression and questioned the events related by the complainant, who had initially said that the facts had taken place in 1974.

In total, some sixty women have accused Bill Cosby of being a sexual predator who used alcohol and sleeping pills to abuse his victims for decades. The latter has always denied the facts, ensuring that the sexual relations were all consensual.
