Bill Cosby: is he smiling on his latest prison picture?

Bill Cosby has been in jail for sexual assault since 2018. A new photo shows the traces that the detention has already left.

The fallen comedian and actor Bill Cosby (83, "The Bill Cosby Show") has been serving his sentence for sexual assault in the SCI Phoenix correctional facility in the US state of Pennsylvania since September 2018. A new photo of the 83-year-old, taken at the beginning of September and now published by the institution, clearly shows the traces that the time in prison has left on Cosby.

Compared to the first prison photo from 2018, Cosby has significantly longer and grizzled hair. A stubbly beard is also evident. A white mask to protect against the coronavirus can be seen around the inmate's neck, which Cosby removed for the photo. He has lowered his gaze towards the floor and a smile seems to appear on his face. A prison spokesman explained in an interview with "TMZ" that the prison regularly takes new so-called mugshots of its inmates in order to document optical changes.

Cosby is serving a three to ten year prison sentence. He is said to have drugged and sexually coerced Canadian university employee Andrea Constand (47) in 2004. In addition, allegations were made by up to 60 other women who accused Cosby of similar things. In June of that year, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court upheld an appeal on two out of four counts that led to his conviction two years ago. A hearing is due on December 1, 2020.
