Bill Cosby sentenced for sexual assault on a minor: will he return to prison?

He is condemned again! Bill Cosby tried this Tuesday, June 21 a new conviction for sexual assault. He was found guilty of the facts, dating back to 1975. The victim was a minor at the time since she was 16 years old.

Judy Huth, now 64, has accused the comedian of making her drink a large amount of alcohol at a party before being taken to the Playboy Mansion, the home of the friend of the star, Hugh Hefner. At the same time, the victim’s testimony had been undermined by a year error. She first explained that the facts date back to 1974 before finally reconsidering her testimony and affirming that the case dated from 1975. An error which had been the main argument of the defense to question the testimony of the complainant. In the end, nothing helped and the court in Santa Monica, California did end up convicting the TV star of sexual assault on a minor. He was therefore ordered to pay $500,000 in damages. But no prison sentence.

The career of the man who had become famous in the Cosby Show during the 1980s had already taken the lead in the wing in the early 2010s, when more than 50 women had filed a complaint for sexual assault. Most of the facts being prescribed, Bill had only been convicted for his actions on a single woman. A conviction that had sent him three years in prison between 2018 and 2021.

Bill has been married since 1964 to Camille O. Cosby. The couple had a total of 5 children together. Apart from this marriage, the comedian also has a daughter, Autumn Cosby born from his affair with a woman in the early 1970s, on which he was also convicted of assault and rape. The latter tried to blackmail him by asking him for money in exchange for his silence about the circumstances of his conception. Her only son was shot and killed on a highway in 1997.
