Bill Murray reacts for the first time after the complaint filed against him

Accused of “inappropriate behavior” on the set of “Being Mortal”, Bill Murray comes out of silence. The actor spoke when a complaint was filed against him and the film has been on hold for almost two weeks.

During an interview with CNBC this weekend, the 71-year-old actor returned to the complaint against him, citing disagreement and misunderstanding. “I had a difference of opinion with a woman I work with. I did something that I thought was funny, and it wasn’t taken that way,” the actor explained. Specifying having thought about it a lot in recent weeks, he continued “you know, the world is different from what it was when I was little”.

“What I always thought was funny when I was little is not necessarily the same as what is funny now. Things change and times have changed. So, it’s important for me to understand, ”continued Bill Murray, confirming that the film was indeed at a standstill. For the record, the Searchlight Picture production suspended the shooting of the feature film directed by Aziz Ansari because of this complaint.

A return to the set in negotiation

The septuagenarian also explained that the dialogue was not broken. “We talk to each other and we try to make peace,” shared the latter. The actor who has not revealed the name of the woman who accuses him of ‘inappropriate behavior’ continued ‘we are both professionals, we like each other’s work, we like each other I think’ .

“If we can’t get along and trust each other, there’s no point in going any further, working together or making the film,” he also explained, saying he was “optimistic.” “What would make me happiest would be to put my boots on and for us both to go back to work and to be able to trust each other.”
