10 days after being the subject of an accusation that caused a filming interruption, Bill Murray speaks for the first time. At the microphone of CNBC, the actor spoke at length on the subject, while not quite lifting the veil on the precise reasons for this halt in the production of the film Being Mortal.
Bill Murray evokes for the moment a “difference of opinion“against a person with whom he worked on the set and whose identity is kept secret. The actor adds: “I did something I thought was funny and it wasn’t“.

“I did something that I thought was funny and it wasn’t considered so“, he explains on the set of this CNBC show. “The studio meant well, so they wanted to check everything out, investigate, and halted filming. Now we talk and try to make peace. I think the real question is there, that of making peace between us (the plaintiff and Bill Murray, Ed.). We are professionals, we appreciate each other’s work. We like each other, I think, and if we can’t move on and trust each other, there’s no point in continuing to work together or make this film, without achieving that.“, continues the actor.
Bill Murray admits to having thought a lot about this subject since the interruption of filming: “It was a lesson for me”. “The world has changed since I was a kid, he adds. “You know, what I thought was funny from a very young age isn’t necessarily funny anymore. Things have changed and times are changing, so it’s important for me to take the measure of it. Remember that the Searchlight studio has not yet wished to comment on this filming incident while the investigation is ongoing. As specified by Deadline, neither Aziz Ansari, director of the film, nor Seth Rogen, partner of Bill Murray on the set, would be involved in this incident. Filming is currently suspended and no resumption date has been announced to date. It is not known if Bill Murray remains in the credits of the film, or if a replacement is planned. For the record, filming had started at the end of March, and about half had been completed.
