The company had to put in place limits to the artificial intelligence derived from ChatGPT technology after the latter went off the rails several times. But since then, things seem to be going better, which allows the Redmond firm to increase the number of authorized interactions.

Would AI be the necessary and indispensable tool for any search engine in the future? This is the perspective that seems to emerge from the many projects announced in this direction, and which all follow the model initiated by Bing. The search tool made in Microsoft is indeed the precursor in the field, and also the most advanced thanks to the very rapid integration of GPT-4.

The problem is that if the technology is now accessible to everyone, it is particularly restricted by Microsoft for security reasons. This constraint had taken the form of a limited number of discussions per day, but it is nevertheless in the process of withering away. We thus learned two weeks ago that the tech giant was increasing the daily number of open sessions to 150, with up to 15 sessions possible per day. And this number is still increasing.

Up to 200 sessions

Users have indeed noticed this weekend that they were now entitled to 20 rounds of discussion per day. This unheralded change was just confirmed on Twitter by Microsoft vice president for Bing’s growth and delivery team, Michael Schechter. ” We’re testing the 20/200 this weekend to see how things go “, he thus revealed.

The 20 rounds of discussion therefore now allow you to have the right to some 200 daily sessions with the chatbot. But as the manager’s sentence indicates, this is a test phase, which does not guarantee the durability of the new rule. However, if no major problem were detected by the firm founded by Bill Gates in the coming days, it would be surprising to see Microsoft go back.
