Bing Chat now offers ads, why it’s a good thing


The main selling point of Bing Chat is that in addition to having the latest technology from OpenAI, it is connected to the Internet. Access to the web allows the chatbot to provide you with news items, to establish links with sources and therefore, from now on, to display personalized advertisements.

On Thursday, Microsoft confirmed through a blog post that it was going to launch ads on Microsoft Bing Chat. Last week, however, Bing Chat users had already started noticing ads appearing in responses through footnotes with an ad mention.

Microsoft says the goal of placing these ads is to increase traffic to publishers whose content contributed to the response. The goal is to increase traffic to publishers so they can continue to earn advertising revenue and, in turn, continue to produce free, quality content.

Still, the establishment by Microsoft of advertisements in its chatbot has shocked more than one. This move comes just a month after the release of Bing Chat, and the chatbot is still only available as a limited limited preview.
