A second season of “Biohackers” was announced in August. Now is the start date for the new episodes of the German Netflix series.

The science thriller series “Biohackers” returns to Netflix this summer. The streaming service has the new episodes of the second season for July 9, 2021 announced. It is also certain that Thomas Kretschmann (58) will complete the cast. Luna Wedler (21) as a student Mia and Jessica Schwarz (44, “Romy”) as Prof. Dr. Tanja Lorenz return in the new episodes.

Christian Ditter (born 1977, “How to Be Single”) continues to act as an idea generator and director. “Thematically, the second season will also deal with moral and ethical issues relating to biohacking and genome editing,” he announced last year.

The first season of the science thriller series “Biohackers” consists of six episodes and takes viewers into the world of synthetic biology. Mia starts her medical studies at the University of Freiburg. There she attended a course given by the renowned scientist Prof. Dr. Tanja Lorenz, who is primarily concerned with biohacking technology. Mia tries everything to get close to her lecturer. Because the two share a dark secret from the past. Eventually events roll over and the first season ends with a cliffhanger.
