Set in Barcelona, Spain, the second Bird Box film reveals crucial plot information: survivors are immune to invisible creatures. They are nicknamed the “viewers”. Their DNA could even be used to find a cure.
This is what the final scene shows us. Scientists collect the blood of one of the protagonists to inject it into laboratory rats. The rodents are then locked in a room to deal with a captured monster. The result of this experiment remains in suspense… until the third film?
In front of this open end, it is obvious that a new opus would make sense. Especially since Bird Box, the first of its name, is one of the biggest hits in the history of the Netflix platform. However, nothing has been confirmed or even announced.
Bird Box Barcelona has only just been released and, as often, it is best to wait for the first figures to make decisions. Good news: the sequel seems to be a great success. In France and Spain – of course – it even ranks first – number 3 in the United States.
A third film could explore the evolution of this remedy and the journey of “viewers” by imagining a new city for a change of scenery. Why not Bird Box Paris?
