Blockchain at the bedside of States. Bitcoin and blockchain are no longer emerging concepts, but proven tools that have demonstrated their potential, especially in regions affected by monetary deficiencies.
In this context, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) is partnering with the Algorand Foundation to create a blockchain academy. Their goal ? Train 22,000 UNDP employees in blockchain technology to promote a sustainable economy.
Blockchain, the new horizon of UNDP
The training offered by the UNDP will focus on key areas such as:
- financial inclusion;
- supply chain transparency;
- tokenization of real-world assets;
- digital identity applications.
In fact, for this association it will be a question of allowing theuse of blockchain to its employees for strengthening sustainable development strategies in 170 countries.

Algorand partners with the UN development program
This partnership with the Algorand Foundation, recognized for its secure and efficient blockchain, promises to equip UNDP employees with blockchain to face global challenges.
Chosen by the UN, the Algorand Foundation will open theAlgorand Blockchain Academy in 2024. The aim is to strengthen the skills of UNDP staff through in-depth training on blockchain technology and its practical applications.

While institutional players are focusing on Bitcoin at the end of the year, the United Nations also seems to be moving towards the advantages of Web3, thus following in the footsteps of India during its presidency of the G20.
Faced with historically regulated continents, emerging countries appear to benefit from this technological leap, pleading for regulation that would promote wider adoption and democratization of cryptocurrencies.
