Investing.com – Deribit, the world’s largest options exchange, was the target of a hack that seized digital assets worth the equivalent of $28 million.

So far, it is unclear what security flaw allowed hackers to access the company’s hot wallet. For this reason, all transactions have been temporarily suspended. Customers currently don’t have to worry about their assets because, according to the company’s guidance, they are kept in a safe place:

“It is standard business practice to keep 99% of customer funds in cold storage, so the impact of this type of event is limited. The hack is isolated and limited to our BTC hotwallets , ETH and USDC”.

Deribit knows which wallet the stolen funds are on and is now trying to freeze them.
