Bitcoin superstar: Miss Salvador competes in Miss Universe in a golden BTC costume

Bitcoin makes its show – Against all odds (or rather, against banks and the IMF), the salvador succeeded in adopting Bitcoin (BTC) as legal tenderSeptember 7, 2021. The small Central American country seems very proud of its monetary choice, since its representative in the contest of Miss Universe decided to parade in an outfit shining with a thousand bitcoinesque lights!

El Salvador has Bitcoin in its blood, and down to its fingertips

Despite the hostility of bankers and supranational organizations such as the IMFPresident Nayib Bukele and parliamentarians from salvador have made their choice Bitcoin as the national currency.

Salvadoran actress and model Alejandra Guajardo took part in the Bitcoin game, during the competition selections Miss Universe. Her outfit was more specifically intended to highlight the “different currencies throughout history” of El Salvador.

Miss Salvador proudly presents her country’s cryptocurrency

If the Salvadoran colon (in force from 1892 to 2001) appears on the back of the lovely representative of the Central American nation, we can clearly distinguish the little new bitcoin as the main decoration of his ceremonial staff.

This very golden and shimmering costume (also reminiscent of the currency gold) was made by the artist Francisco Guerrero. Note that the US dollar is absent of the outfit, although it was the small nation’s only currency between 2001 and September 7, 2021 (necessary but unwanted, perhaps?).

Alejandra Guajardo comments on the arrival of Bitcoin in El Salvador in these words, via her Instagram account:

“(…) Being a country with a real vision of positive change for the future, El Salvador became the first country in the world to use cryptocurrencies as legal tender, when it adopted Bitcoin in 2021. (…)”

Miss Salvador seems happy to represent Bitcoin, in addition to her country.

And, the history of crypto-assets in El Salvador does not what to start. In fact, just a few days ago (January 11, 2023), the legislators of the Assembly of El Salvador adopted a news “Digital Assets Issuance Act”. The latter will notably allow the arrival of “Volcano tokens” : the very first government bonds in the world to be based on bitcoin.
