Update April 29, 2022: The Federal Environment Agency (UBA) has now confirmed that it can take longer to process applications for the greenhouse gas quota (GHG quota). The reason is the great interest of e-car drivers in earning something extra in this way. Tens of thousands of applications are said to have been received since the beginning of the year, and more are added every day. “Due to the high number of applications and the volume of many applications and the examination effort associated with the processing in connection with the relatively short-term change in the legal situation in January 2022 A processing time of a few weeks is currently to be expected“A spokesman for the federal authority told the dpa (via t3n).
However, the UBA also points out that no promises are made as to how long the processing will take. “We have no influence on statements made by individual service companies to their customers”, it says. Providers applying for the GHG quotas for their customers had previously cited the longer processing time as a reason for late payments (more on this below in the article).

However, the delay is not a cause for concern. Anyone who has submitted the application by the end of February 2022 is on the safe side for the bonus from 2021.
