TESLA

The interiors of Tesla’s electric cars are polarizing, but they have long since become a trademark. Now one of the leading minds behind the design is taking his hat off.

Central touchscreen, hardly any buttons: Tesla’s electric cars have always had extremely reduced interiors, almost minimalistic. Peter Blades is responsible for this design line, which can be found in the Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y.

Blades worked for the electric car pioneer for almost ten years. It has now been announced that the designer is leaving Elon Musk’s company. He is moving to the helicopter start-up Skyryse, according to a statement.

“Peter’s mission is to use his innovative design approach to further improve the interior design of Skyryse One – and all of our future aircraft,” it says. Blades is quoted here as saying “Moving to Skyryse is a fantastic opportunity. To once again have the chance to combine this type of transformative technology with a fresh and new perspective on design is an amazing and challenging opportunity.”

Netzwelt means

It is still unclear how Blades’ departure will affect the interior of upcoming Tesla vehicles. However, it cannot be ruled out that a new head of design will also bring significant changes.
