Kittel’s brace keeps HSV in the lead

Hamburger SV is on course for promotion back to the Bundesliga. Two goals by Sonny Kittel bring victory in the pursuer’s duel against Heidenheim. This 22nd matchday really hurts 1. FC Nürnberg. Dresden confirms that it has nothing to do with the relegation battle.

Sonny Kittel was the match winner for Hamburger SV. The 29-year-old tied a brace in the 2-0 (0-0) game against 1. FC Heidenheim in the 2nd Bundesliga. Kittel (63rd) scored the redeeming goal for the North Germans and increased the lead to 2-0 with a penalty kick (78th).

SC Paderborn – Dynamo Dresden 0:0
Dynamo Dresden scored an important away point after beating Hansa Rostock 4-1 last Sunday. The Saxons fought a goalless draw at SC Paderborn but are without a win in five games.
The distance to relegation place 16 increased to five points for Dynamo, who was twelfth in the table. The East Westphalia could not win the third game in a row. In the twelfth duel between the two teams, with five Paderborn wins, it was the fourth draw with three Dresden successes. Most recently, the SCP had achieved a 2-2 draw at FC St. Pauli.
