Black Adam: Dwayne Johnson hires Aldis Hodge for Hawkman role

Dwayne Johnson plays the DC antihero Black Adam in the film of the same name. It has now been announced that Aldis Hodge will also be there.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (48, "Jumanji") will take on the title role in "Black Adam" and thus celebrate the Shazam villain's first solo appearance. Another cast has now become known in the film. Aldis Hodge (34, "The Invisible") will play the popular DC character Hawkman. Johnson, who co-produced the film, personally congratulated the actor. On Instagram, he published excerpts from the telephone conversation with Hodge, who at first doubted the authenticity of the person he was speaking to, silently accepted the message about his role and then put down the phone to let out a cheer.

Hodge himself posted a picture of the cartoon character with large wings on Instagram and wrote: "The cat is out of the bag. It is an honor to join the 'Black Adam' family with Dwayne and Noah." Noah Centineo (24, "The Perfect Date") will play Atom Smasher in the film.

Production and premiere in the coming year

Superhero Hawkman aka Carter Hall will be part of the Justice Society Of America (JSA). Black Adam was one of them, until he turned away from the group and eventually became the villain. Atom Smasher succeeded Black Adam and the two villains developed a close relationship. "Black Adam" is scheduled to open in theaters on December 21, 2021. According to "Deadline", the film will not be shot until next year. Jaume Collet-Serra (46) is the director.
