Black Friday 2023 – The Asus TUF VG28UQL1A “5-star” computer LCD screen at €529.00 (-13%)

The Asus TUF VG28UQL1A monitor features a 28-inch Ultra HD 144 Hz IPS panel and two HDMI 2.1 inputs supporting 4K 120 Hz signals and VRR. On paper, an ideal screen for gaming enthusiasts on PCs and latest generation consoles.

For exclusive use on PC, the Asus TUF VG28UQL1A monitor is of little interest with its very demanding Ultra HD definition on such a small diagonal. We would rather recommend a more suitable 32-inch or 27-inch Quad HD model. On the other hand, for those who intend to enjoy the new consoles in 4K 120 Hz VRR via HDMI 2.1, this monitor is simply perfect. Well calibrated, it benefits from excellent ergonomics and very good responsiveness.

Strong points

  • Image well calibrated by default.
  • HDMI 2.1 compatibility (4K/120 Hz and VRR).
  • Responsiveness of the IPS panel.
  • ELMB (black image insertion) works with FreeSync and G-Sync.
  • Ergonomics (foot adjustable in height, inclination and rotation).
  • Interesting Ultra HD native definition for consoles.

Weak points

  • Interest in Ultra HD on a 28-inch panel?
  • No USB port on the edge.
  • Medium contrast.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude the prices of stores whose the VAT policy is not clear (so-called “gray” stores, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternatively

The Asus TUF Gaming VG279QM is an excellent gaming monitor that is primarily aimed at performance enthusiasts. Well calibrated originally, it lacks a little contrast and a USB hub to be perfect. It is today the most responsive IPS monitor on the market and remains the only one capable of competing with the most efficient TN models. It is a product of choice for cyberathletes. Others will happily turn to the AOC 27G2U, a little less responsive and limited to 144 Hz, but also less expensive.
