Producer Nate Moore explains why to the site comic book.
This film is a little different from the others, the tone is not the same as usual. We have found, and people will be able to see it, the poetic end. Coming back to say “Hey, we put a joke at the end of the credits” would have sounded false and hypocritical.
The producer specifies that this is not the first Marvel film not to have a post-credits scene since Avengers: Endgame also lacked one. “Like Endgame, which didn’t have an extra scene, this movie didn’t seem to need one..”
Indeed, Wakanda Forever pays tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who died on August 28, 2020 of colon cancer. The feature film honors the memory of the actor and the characters in this sequel try to mourn, each in their own way. The film ends with a poignant scene.
