The TF1 group wants to restore the signal of its channels at least for people receiving TV only with satellite.
Deprived of the distribution of its TF1, LCI, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films channels and of the MyCanal service on the Canal+ distribution platform since Friday September 2, the TF1 group is filing a complaint.
He summons the Canal+ group in summary proceedings before the Paris Commercial Court to obtain the reinstatement of its channels on the TNT Sat service which serves 7% of the French population living in white areas, i.e. 1.8 million households. The latter, living for the most part in mountainous regions, can only receive television thanks to a satellite antenna.

On Saturday, Culture Minister Rima Abdul Malak sent a letter to the Canal+ group saying that “Cutting the signal of the TF1 group channels on the TNT Sat offer deprives people who can only receive DTT via satellite of any access to the five free channels of the TF1 group“, she wrote. “This situation is not in accordance with the intention of the legislator, which was to guarantee full coverage of the territory by DTT“, she recalls.
Arcom, the audiovisual regulator, conceded that this is not a legal obligation but rather falls within the spirit of the law. He had offered to mediate between the two groups but for the moment, the dialogue has not yet been resumed.
