Black sheep – “We need stricter laws”

Incredible – nothing has changed! Last autumn, some shisha bars were closed until further notice because they simply did not want to adhere to the Covid-19 rules. But these “black sheep” seem to have learned nothing.

In October 2020, an official entry ban was imposed on the “Nassiri” shisha bar on Wiener Straße due to multiple, repeated violations of the applicable Covid-19 regulations. In the end there was an administrative fine – that’s it! Like all other restaurants, they were allowed to open on May 19th.

Gate locked
But anyone who thinks they have learned from the fall incident is wrong. The police had to arrive on the first weekend. Because neighbors complained about the noise, which, in addition to the music inside, was mainly caused by the partying masses of guests – FFP2 masks were not there. After the executive informed the operator, he closed the iron gate at the entrance and the party continued. The next day there was a fight in front of the bar. The police wanted to arbitrate, the people withdrew. When the officers were gone, the rioters came back. The desperate neighbors dread it if they only think about what happens when the curfew (10 pm) is lifted.

Circle continues to turn cheerfully
Unfortunately not an isolated case, the same picture can be seen in similarly inspired inner city bars. Because you can only prosecute the managing director, he usually changes – and it starts all over again. FP Security Councilor Michael Raml rages: “The federal government must finally ensure that the district administrative authorities have more powers with regard to control and closure options.”
