In North America, “Black Widow” has set a record and is the fastest since the pandemic began to break the 100 million dollar mark.

In the first few days after its theatrical release, it became clear that “Black Widow” would be a big hit on the big screens. Now the Marvel film has set a new record: The strip grossed 100 million dollars (around 85 million euros) at the North American box office the fastest since the beginning of the pandemic – in just six days. This is reported, among other things, by the industry website “Deadline”.

“Black Widow” overtakes the previous record holder “Fast & Furious 9”, which took eight days to break the 100 million dollar mark. This is followed by the horror flick “A Quiet Place 2” (15 days) and the action film “Godzilla vs. Kong” (twelve weekends). “Black Widow” is the first Marvel production in around two years to be back in theaters.

Recorded over 200 million US dollars worldwide

The film with Scarlett Johansson (36) in the leading role has already grossed over 200 million US dollars (around 170 million euros) worldwide – despite the partial boycott of some German cinema operators. The nationwide Kinopolis group, for example, has not included “Black Widow” in its program due to the unacceptable conditions and conditions of use. The film has also been shown in German cinemas since July 8th and can also be seen on the Disney + streaming service.
