BlackBerry: The title picks up after a warning


(CercleFinance.com) – BlackBerry fell heavily on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday after warning that its fourth quarter results would be affected by an impairment charge.

The action of the specialist in communications infrastructure for companies is currently losing more than 12% on Wall Street, in a US stock market down about 0.5%.

In a press release published in the morning, BlackBerry warns that its fourth quarter accounts will include an impairment loss for goodwill on Spark, its security and terminal management subsidiary, for an amount which should be around $440 million.

Its preliminary results also show that the Canadian group expects a quarterly turnover of 151 million dollars, much lower than the consensus of analysts which aimed for 168 million dollars.

Its turnover for the 2022/2023 financial year, ending at the end of February, should come out at a level close to 656 million dollars, a target again below the consensus which expected 674 million.

Following all these announcements, the BlackBerry title dropped 12.5% ​​at the start of the session on Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange.
