It was on June 25, 1982, forty years ago, that Blade Runner was released in the United States, the film that was to become one of the peaks of science fiction in cinema, joining in this pantheon works such as Alien or 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The film is an adaptation of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by writer Philip K. Dick, one of the greatest science fiction authors of the 60s and 70s, which has been adapted to the cinema many times, whether by Steven Spielberg with Minority Report, by Paul Verhoeven with Total Recall, or even in a slightly more confidential register by Richard Linklater with A Scanner Darkly.
blade runner features former policeman Rick Deckard, who must return to work to track down a group of androids led by the disturbing Roy Batty. In the casting, we find Harrison Ford in the main role, the actor then in full explosion, who has just come out of the huge successes Star Wars and Indiana Jones. In front of him, the actresses Sean Young and Daryl Hannah and especially the charismatic Rutger Hauer Dutch actor who delivers a final monologue that has become a legend of SF.
