For those who no longer only want to wear the blazer in summer, we now have the solution! With these styling tips you can make your beloved piece suitable for winter.

In order to take the trend piece with you into the colder seasons, you need a little makeover. While we wore oversized blazers with colorful dresses, biker shorts and playful skirts in spring and summer, in winter we mainly go for the tried and tested onion look.

Blazer in winter – the golden rule in advance

In the cold months, there is one golden rule you should follow: it’s better to put on an undershirt more than to be cold due to the thin fabric. Because blazers are simply not winter jackets and only protect slightly against the cold and there is nothing more unfashionable than blue lips and goose bumps. And a cold is not sexy on top of that.

Blazer meets hoodie

The casual hoodie is a warm companion under the trendy jacket. This can also sit a little oversized. Maybe a cool statement on top of that? So you’re right on trend! The sweater creates a cool break in style and makes the entire look look casual and still chic. Xenia Adonts shows us how to do this, combining the hoodie with an oversized black blazer and matching suit trousers.

In order not to have to do without blazers in winter, we have to wrap up warm. A thick turtleneck is particularly suitable for this, as it fits perfectly under the it-piece. So the outfit is also able to withstand colder temperatures. However, if that is still too cold for you, you can throw a cozy coat over the jacket and make the layered look so complete.

Not enough onion look yet? Then you can add another layer. Just throw a cozy sweater over your shoulders. Not only does it look stylish, it also keeps you nice and warm. Win win!

Two trend fabrics for the blazer this winter

Aside from classic wool blazers, two materials are particularly popular this winter: velvet and leather. The great thing about it: During the day, they can be easily combined with more inconspicuous classics, but they also look at least as good with a glamorous evening look.

The velvet blazer

We see velvet blazers everywhere at the moment. They were omnipresent at fashion shows this year, but the it-piece can also be seen more and more in street style. So it is high time that we too dare to use the soft, warm trend fabric. Here we can take a good look at the color palette and let off steam. The velvet blazer should stand out and make up the entire look. The trendy item in velvet is also ideal for the coming festive Christmas days.

The leather blazer

Vegan leather is one of the biggest trends in 2021! And we can also find the trend material in the blazer world. Whereby the vegan leather blazer is often worn in an all-leather look, as Laura Wittek and Saraja Roberta Elez show. Add chic sunglasses and an XXL scarf and the blazer look is ready for winter.
