Bling-Bling-Hyundai – Genesis GV60: Noble offshoot brings 800-volt Stromer

After Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, the third brand from the Hyundai Group is now showing its first electric car based on the new E-GMP platform. But as far as you can tell from the photos, the design of the luxury brand is rather inconsistent. But design is known to be a matter of taste.

Like its model brothers, the GV60 is a medium-sized crossover with an 800-volt system and a range of over 400 kilometers. In Germany it should start next year, in Austria the brand will start next year at the earliest.

The GV60 is visually differentiated from the Hyundai and Kia variants. The two-part headlight units and the smooth front, which emulates the winged logo of the brand, are striking. There is a small spoiler on the rounded, coupé-like rear end, and the rear window merges optically into the C-pillar. The rounded shapes of the decorative and functional elements are striking in the cockpit, while the dome-shaped, transparent speed selector switch, which is also used for ambient lighting, should be an eye-catcher.

Genesis has not yet revealed any details about the drive. However, it should be based on that of the sister models, which are currently available with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and power values up to 225 kW / 305 PS. Kia has already announced a version with 585 hp for the EV6, and Hyundai is also talking about a sporty variant with the nickname N.

The 800-volt battery system will also be adopted; it enables high charging capacities and correspondingly short charging times. The range per battery charge should be at least 485 kilometers. Prices are not yet known, the sister companies start at around 40,000 euros.
