Blink launches a camera with integrated projectors and motorizes the Blink Mini

While Ring has just announced two new versions of the Spotlight Cam, Amazon’s other connected security subsidiary is not to be outdone. She in turn announces a new camera, but also a motorized support for the Blink Mini.

A first camera with integrated projectors

The Wired Floodlight Camera is an outdoor camera complete with two LED floodlights on top. A first at Blink, which however already has in its catalog a support with projectors for the Blink Outdoor. The projectors are therefore this time directly integrated into the camera. An articulated support allows them to be oriented to illuminate different areas of the garden, and Blink announces up to 2600 lumens.

On the side of the camera itself, the subsidiary of Amazon highlights above all the possibility of defining activity zones and the detection of people. All in all classic functions today, except that they rely on an on-board neural chip for local processing. If detected, the Wired Floodlight Camera can film the event in 1080p, and a microphone and speaker are also provided for two-way audio. Nothing exceptional there again.

As often with Blink, it is above all the price that should make the difference. The Wired Floodlight Camera is advertised at $99.99 in the United States and works without a subscription thanks to the Sync Module, which allows recordings to be kept on a USB storage medium. A cloud offer is certainly offered, but it is optional.

In addition to this camera, Blink announces the arrival of an accessory for its small indoor camera. The Blink Mini Pan Tilt is a motorized support on which the Blink Mini is placed. It is then possible to control it remotely: the support can rotate the camera and tilt it to see what is happening anywhere in a room. On the other hand, this solution does not seem to allow the tracking of movements offered today by most cameras with on-board motorization.

The accessory will be offered on its own and with the camera in the US and Canada initially, for $29.99 and $59.99. A wall bracket will also be available as an option.
