From mysterious “bloody packages” containing animal eyes. This is what several diplomatic representations of Ukraine around the world have received, said Friday, December 2, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. These incidents follow the sending of a series of letter bombs to Spain, including one destined for the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid, also the recipient of a bloody parcel on Friday.
Apart from Spain, the packages, soaked in a liquid with a pronounced color and smell, were sent to Ukrainian embassies in Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia and Italy, consulates generals in Naples and Krakow and at the consulate in Brno, Czech Republic, ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said in a statement.
According to Mr. Nikolenko, moreover, the entrance to the residence of the Ukrainian ambassador to the Vatican was “vandalized” and the Ukrainian Embassy in Kazakhstan received a “threat of bombing”which, however, was not followed up. “We have reason to believe that an organized campaign of terror and intimidation against Ukrainian embassies and consulates is brewing”, said the spokesman for the ministry. Fish eyes and feces
In Poland, Sylwester Marczak, a Warsaw police spokesman, confirmed by email that a package had arrived at the Ukrainian consulate in the Polish capital on Thursday, which ” awake “ an employee’s suspicions. “We quickly eliminated the threat”, said Marczak. On Friday, the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid was evacuated after the discovery of a suspicious package. Analyzes were carried out on the mail, which did not reveal the presence of explosives.
