Blow to Priscilla Presley: why she can never be buried next to Elvis

Mourned by the death of her daughter Lisa Marie last winter, Priscilla Presley must suffer a new blow. The King’s widow will not be able to rest next to her husband. Here’s why.

It’s a beautiful story that began in 1959. Elvis Presley is about to fly to Germany to do his military service when a close friend of the singer, Currie Grant, introduces him to a certain Priscilla Beaulieu. She is 14 years old and loves the King, like many young people her age. The meeting occurs at the home of the rockstar. A decade separates them, but the charm works almost by magic. Eight years later, the lovebirds pass the ring on their finger in a hotel in Las Vegas. From their union will be born Lisa Marie, in 1968. An enchanted parenthesis that would end four years later with a divorce. The King will end his days alone, victim of a heart attack on his property in Graceland, Tennessee, where he rests today.

Elvis and Priscilla Presley, To life, to death ? Not really. Especially since the death of their daughter on January 12, who also succumbed to cardiac arrest. The former companion of the King no longer has the right to cross the barriers of Graceland. Worse, she would have been refused to be buried alongside the singer, of his ex-parents-in-law Gladys and Vernon, of his daughter and of his grandson Benjamin Keough, who shot himself by suicide at the age of 27 three years ago. According to TMZ, there would simply be no more room in the family vault. “My family and I want me to rest with my daughter and the love of my life when the time is right”, she told TMZ. A legal battle is brewing in Tennessee!

Why are there tensions between Priscilla Presley and her baby girl?

Nothing has been going well with the Presleys for four months. Sole heir to her mother’s heritage,Riley Keough elbows with his grandmother. The latter disputes the succession, going so far as to question the lack of value of the document since it would not have been signed by a notary. that’s why Priscilla Presley would have been “excluded” of Graceland, according to DailyMail. To make sure she doesn’t see her snooping around her grandfather’s final resting place, Lisa Marie Presley’s daughter would even “changed the locks on the upstairs doors and the archives” during a stay in Memphis.
