Bloxmove founder in the podcast “So techt Germany”: How she wants to end the mobility chaos

Sophia Rödiger, Bloxmove founder, and Dominic Briggs from the investment company Blockwall agree. Germany is a good startup country for blockchain companies. But there is room for improvement, as the two tell in the ntv podcast “So techt Germany”.

Who does not know that? To get from A to B in Germany, you often need a large number of apps. Whether taxi, scooter, train or bus – each provider has its own system and often its own payment model. “We noticed early on that this market is highly fragmented,” says founder Sophia Rödiger, remembering her time at Daimler Mobility. The idea for Bloxmove was born.

The goal is ambitious: Bloxmove wants to unite all mobility providers on one platform in order to make things easier for users in the end. What Rödiger and her team also knew: “We won’t all harmonize them and get them right away.” That is why they take a decentralized approach. This also means that Bloxmove will “not produce the next app”. Instead, the start-up wants to connect the various providers in the background. The business psychologist explains exactly how this should work in the ntv podcast “So techt Germany”.

“Berlin has a very strong ecosystem”

This is how Germany techt

In “So techt Germany” the ntv moderators Frauke Holzmeier and Andreas Laukat ask founders, investors, politicians and entrepreneurs how things are in Germany as a technology location. You can find all episodes in the ntv app at Audio Now, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify. Also at Amazon Music and Google Podcast you will find it.

In order to be able to implement the project successfully, of course, money is required. In this case, that’s from Dominic Briggs and Blockwall. Many start-ups hope for financial support from him. Bloxmove is part of a new investment fund that focuses on blockchain and crypto.

The company set up the first fund in 2018. Since then, the start-ups have been lining up at Blockwall. But it is not used everywhere where it says blockchain. “There are a lot of cases where blockchain is just in the pitch deck,” laughs Briggs.

Briggs focuses on Germany and Europe with his investments. Berlin, Zug in Switzerland and London are at the forefront. “Berlin has a very strong ecosystem,” he is convinced. In addition, the federal government has a good blockchain strategy.

Sophia Rödiger and Dominic Briggs report in the new episode of “So techt Germany” why there is still room for improvement in Germany and why Bloxmove has also opted for its own crypto token when it comes to fundraising.
