(CercleFinance.com) – The BMW group announces that it has implemented several projects in its packaging logistics in order to further save resources.
In particular, the Group intends to work closely with its suppliers to reduce carbon emissions and best implement the principles of the circular economy.
‘As part of this initiative, European factories will use more recycled materials in their packaging,’ promises the manufacturer.
Concretely, the proportion of recycled materials in reusable packaging for logistics purposes will almost double this year, rising from around 20% to more than 35%.
The group also plans to use sustainable alternative materials, reduce single-use packaging and introduce lightweight packaging.
The Group’s overall objective is to reduce CO2 emissions in the supply chain by 20% per vehicle (compared to 2019).
