(CercleFinance.com) – BMW AG Board Member Milan Nedeljković announced today that NEUE KLASSE vehicles will be produced in China, in Shenyang, by BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. (BBA) from 2026.
The vehicles’ high-voltage batteries will also be made locally, the official said.
As part of this project, BBA is investing 10 billion RMB (about 1.3 billion euros) in a future site, which will notably produce battery cells for the sixth generation of high-voltage batteries from 2026.
“From a small assembly plant with a limited number of units, our factories in Shenyang have become our largest production site in the world. Today, 20 years after the initial production start of our joint venture, I am delighted to announce the local production of the NEUE KLASSE in China, ‘said Milan Nedeljković.
