The tennis world is in mourning for Bob Brett: Boris Becker's former trainer succumbed to longstanding cancer at the age of 67.

Australian tennis coach legend Bob Brett passed away at the age of 67. As the media unanimously report, his daughters have now confirmed the death. The Australian newspaper "Herald Sun" also reports that Brett has succumbed to longstanding cancer. In Germany, the Australian became known primarily thanks to his commitment to Boris Becker (53), whom he looked after from 1987 to 1991 and made him number one in world tennis.

Brett also worked for other Grand Slam winners such as Goran Ivanisevic (49), Johan Kriek (62) and Marin Cilic (32). He also trained other well-known professionals such as Nicolas Kiefer (43) and Andrij Medwedjew (46). In total, Brett was active on the ATP tour for 35 years, since 2000 he has been more and more committed to the youth sector and has worked in Japan, Great Britain and Canada, among others. In Italy he also ran his own tennis academy.
