The first episode of “The Book of Boba Fett”, series available on Disney +, answers a question that many Star Wars fans have been asking: how and why did he survive?

A ruthless bounty hunter, Boba Fett has a not-so-glorious end in Return of the Jedi. As Luke Skywalker proceeds on a rescue mission to root Han Solo and Princess Leia out of the dreaded Jabba the Hutt, the helmeted killer falls head first into the jaws of Sarlacc, a creature buried under the sand.

Left for dead, the character makes a comeback in Season 2 of The Mandalorian – after a brief appearance in the premiere. He is played by Temuera Morrison, who already played Jango Fett in George Lucas’ prelogy. Only, the series does not explain how the Warrior survived his mishap in Tatooine, leaving viewers to face their own theories.

Obviously, The Book of Boba Fett, a character-centric program, solves this mystery. And it does it from its very first chapter, titled A stranger in hostile land. The foreground of the series shows the warrior asleep in a healing box. It is through a flashback sequence that fans find out how he survived.

Trapped in the organs of Sarlacc, in the middle of a few other victims, Boba Fett tries to make his way. He collects oxygen from a Stormtrooper who is there, also stuck and who does not seem to have survived. With the force of his fist, the bounty hunter pierces the creature’s skin and uses his flamethrower to finish the job.

Boba Fett’s Book on Disney +: What is the first episode of the new Star Wars spin-off worth?

Freed, he crawls on the sand before being recovered by the Tuskens, who will make him one of their slaves. It is during an attack of a new monster that Boba Fett wins the respect of the nomads by neutralizing it. It must be said that the killer has made underground creatures his specialty.

Composed of 7 episodes, The Book of Boba Fett should offer a plot that alternates between the past and the present. Many questions remain unanswered, one of them being: What happened to the hero after Episode VI? And how did he get his armor back? There is no doubt that the series will shed light on other mysteries in its next installments.
