Body lotions at ÖKO-TEST: Cheap creams beat brands

ÖKO-TEST regularly examines body lotions. The last tests have already shown that expensive is not necessarily better. This is also confirmed in the new issue 12/2022. The experts tested a total of 35 body lotions, including balms, creams and milk. The products are priced between 40 cents and 40 euros per 200 milliliters.

13 of the products are also certified natural cosmetics, they all score “very good” or “good”. The situation is different with conventional products: Some well-known and popular brands fall short in all categories: critical fragrances, mineral oil in the cream and plastic compounds in the formula – so you should better not let these products on your skin anymore.

Apart from the sometimes extremely expensive prices, these products can harm your health and the environment. The substances accumulate in human fatty tissue, have a negative effect on the liver or promote allergies and allergic reactions.
