Many animated films still convey a false ideal of beauty through main characters who are unrealistically slim. A TikToker has therefore made it her task to put them in the right light.
With its films, Disney inspires all age groups with enchanting and sometimes heart-rending stories. The protagonists have their own characteristics and often have to surpass themselves. Each story conveys a special message intended to encourage the viewer.
False ideal of beauty in animated films
There’s one thing Disney isn’t addressing in the movies and shows yet: body positivity. In the countless animated films, there are few characters with a realistic body shape. The female characters in particular are often far too slim and have a waist that you could cup with one hand. A TikTok user probably thought so too and drew the figures in a realistic form.
