BoE: rate hike of 75 basis points


(CercleFinance.com) – The Bank of England (BoE) announces that at its meeting on November 2, its monetary policy committee voted by a majority of seven votes to two in favor of an increase in the key rate of 0 .75 percentage point, to fix it at 3.00%.

The UK central bank says one member would have preferred to raise the rate by 0.5 percentage point to 2.75%, while another would have preferred to raise it by only 0.25 percentage point. at 2.50%.

‘The majority of members believe that, if the economy evolves broadly in line with the projections of the monetary policy report, further rate hikes may be needed to bring inflation back on target sustainably,’ she said.
