BOE unveils ultra-fast PC screen that goes up to 500 Hz

You may not know BOE, but you may use its products. It is the Chinese display giant that offers its displays to many well-known brands like Huawei, Asus, and Apple. Competitor of Samsung Display, BOE manufactures LCD, LED or Oled screens and relies on the technological excellence of its panels.

It is on this last subject that the giant wanted to put a spotlight with the presentation of a screen for players.

Does crossing the 500 Hz barrier make sense for a PC screen? Increasing the frame rate improves fluidity and reduces latency. You might be disappointed with the Full HD definition, but few games can run at the 500 frames per second required for the most optimal display possible on this panel, even with a definition that seems low. The connection will go through DisplayPort with an 8-bit display.

To achieve this feat, BOE says it succeeded in integrating metal oxides as semiconductor materials instead of copper. According to BOE, this allows both to reduce the power consumption of the screen, but also to speed up the display.

The screen has no release date or price, even in China. We imagine that BOE would especially like to sell the panel to well-known manufacturers such as Asus, Alienware, Acer or AOC.
