Boeing 737: flight cancellations at Alaska Airlines and United

(AOF) – Alaska Airlines announced yesterday the cancellation of all 737 MAX 9 flights until this Saturday, pending regulatory authorization to resume flights after the loss of an aircraft evacuation door of this type last Friday. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), responsible for regulating the sector, grounded 171 planes on Saturday that may have the same problem, including 65 Alaska Airlines MAX 9 aircraft.

According to Reuters, United Airlines, which has 79 aircraft of the same type in its fleet, said it had canceled 167 flights on Wednesday and expected “significant” cancellations on Thursday.
