Boeing: contract for 12 Chinooks with the Egyptian army

(CercleFinance.com) – Boeing announces that the US Army has awarded it a contract for the production of 12 new CH-47F Chinook helicopters for the Egyptian Air Force.

This $426 million foreign military sale will allow Egypt to replace its fleet of CH-47D aircraft with the more modern F model, which has advanced multi-mission capabilities.

“The F-model aircraft will enhance the capabilities of the Egyptian Chinook and help it effectively achieve its heavy-lift objectives,” said Ken Eland, vice president and H-47 program manager.

“Boeing is committed to supporting the Egyptian Armed Forces’ defense modernization mission and ensuring the best capability for Egypt’s national defense and security,” added Vince Logsdon, vice president, Boeing International Business. Development.

The Chinook team is led by the U.S. military, which, along with 19 allied international customers, collectively operates a fleet of more than 950 helicopters.
