Boeing: design review validated for SATCOM

(CercleFinance.com) – Boeing and the US Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC) have completed the critical design review for the Protected Tactical SATCOM Prototype (PTS-P), validating on this occasion ‘the technical maturity of Boeing’ on this rapid prototyping program.

Run in conjunction with Millennium Space Systems, a subsidiary of Boeing, this program is designed to provide high levels of protection for the satellite communications of the United States and its allies.

“This design review demonstrates that we are on the right track to offer new communication capabilities to the fighter,” said Boeing.

The PTS-P has in particular an on-board processor offering users an anti-jamming capacity in the theater of operation with a routing network exceeding objective requirements, assures Boeing.

Integration of the prototype payload and testing of the host vehicle will begin next year while launch into orbit is scheduled for 2024.
