Boeing: still high needs in terms of personnel

(CercleFinance.com) – Boeing assured Monday that the long-term need for commercial pilots, maintenance technicians and aircrew will remain high over the next 20 years.

According to the latest estimates provided by the American aircraft manufacturer, the commercial aviation industry should recruit some 2.1 million people by 2041.

Excluding Russia, this new estimate represents an upward revision of more than 3% compared to its latest forecasts, which dated from last year.

In detail, the American group thinks that the entire sector will need 602,000 airline pilots, 610,000 aircraft maintenance workers and 899,000 cabin crew members.

China, Europe and North America will together account for more than half of this demand for personnel.

For the record, Boeing says it expects the global market for aircraft deliveries to almost double over the next two decades, to 47,080 aircraft by 2041.
