Slowly but surely, the season of corporate results publications is gaining momentum. If only three values of the Cac 40 will be in the spotlight – Alstom, Publicis and Thales -, they will be much more numerous in the United States to engage in the quarterly exercise on the other side of the Atlantic, including big names like Netflix, Tesla or Twitter but also the banks. After JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley or Citigroup last week, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs will be in action on Monday. Ditto for the American computer giant IBM. On the economic level, the first day of the week will be quite calm since investors will content themselves with the NAHB index measuring the confidence of US home developers and builders in July, at 16. With the rapid rise in interest rates, the sector could seize up. The index is expected down 1 point to 66.

The rest of the week will be more intense. On the agenda, in particular: the EU’s contingency plan in the event that Russia does not reopen the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline at the end of the 10-day maintenance period, the monetary policy decision of the European Central Bank , which will raise its key interest rates for the first time in eleven years, or the preliminary S&P PMI indices of purchasing managers in the services and manufacturing sectors in July in the euro zone and the United States.
