Bombardier: 1st quarter driven by after-sales services

(CercleFinance.com) – Bombardier published quarterly results on the rise on Thursday thanks to the good performance of its after-sales service activities and the growth of its order book.

The Canadian aircraft manufacturer reported this morning adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $167 million, up 36% year-on-year, driven by its cuts costs and sales of its Global 7500 aircraft.

The company – which says it delivered 21 business jets in the first quarter – said it generated a record amount of revenue from its after-sales service activities, which increased by around 34% year-on-year.

Its free cash flow was $173 million at the continuing operations level, an improvement of $578 million from a year ago, an amount higher than its forecast.

Bombardier also said it was ‘on track’ to achieve its forecast of more than 120 aircraft deliveries for the full year.

Its backlog has grown by $1.3 billion since the start of 2022 to now reach $13.5 billion.

On the Toronto Stock Exchange, Bombardier ‘B’ shares fell more than 3% on Thursday morning after the publication of these figures.
