Bombardier: return to profitability in the second quarter

(CercleFinance.com) – Bombardier announced Thursday that it had achieved “impressive” profitability in the second quarter, which allows it to hope to achieve its forecasts for the 2023 financial year.

The Canadian group says it generated revenues of $1.7 billion over the past quarter, an increase of 8% compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

With 29 deliveries, Bombardier delivered one more aircraft compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, which gives it ‘good visibility’ on its forecast of more than 138 deliveries this year.

Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was $275 million, a margin of 16.4%, up a “significant” 3.50 percentage points year-over-year.

Once again positive, adjusted net income reached $80 million, compared with a loss of $38 million a year earlier.

The absence of target increases and the good stock market performance achieved in recent months (+ 160% since September 2022) encouraged investors to take part of their profits today and the stock fell by more than 7% on the Stock Exchange. of Toronto.
