Singer Bonnie Tyler will be 70 years old on June 8th. However, she doesn’t mind age, it’s “just a number,” she says in an interview.

Bonnie Tyler will celebrate her 70th birthday on June 8th. The rock singer achieved her great success especially in the 80s – with songs like “Total Eclipse Of The Heart” and “Holding Out For A Hero”. But even today the Briton is still on stage and regularly delivers new music to her fans. Their best times are far from over, as their latest album “The Best Is Yet To Come” promises.

The 70-year-old doesn’t mind getting older. “I have the feeling that age is just a number,” said the singer in an interview with the news agency spot on news. A few months ago she proved how fit she is in lockdown: Bonnie Tyler learned to swim at the age of 69. It is “never too late to learn anything”.

How does she otherwise keep herself healthy? “I’m on the move all the time,” she says. “I rarely sit down.” The 70-year-old doesn’t think about retirement: “No, I don’t want to retire.” Looking back on her life so far, Bonnie Tyler explains, “I have been blessed with a happy, wonderful life doing what I love.” She has “traveled around the world” and is looking forward to “much more of it”.

Bonnie Tyler has a humble birthday wish

Since the first lockdown, the singer has been in her home in Portugal with her husband Robert Sullivan (71). She will also celebrate her birthday here – only two because of the corona pandemic, “but that’s okay”. The two have been married since 1973, almost 50 years. What is the secret of their long marriage? “We love to hang out, talk and laugh a lot,” Tyler replies.

While the world is slowly opening up again, Bonnie Tyler can also hope to be singing live to her fans soon. For her new year of life, she has a humble wish: “To be able to celebrate and hug each other without restrictions.”
