Gabriel Attal and Gérald Darmanin were visiting the Ermont police station in Val-d’Oise yesterday. Second trip to the police for the new Prime Minister. a trip appreciated by the troops who hope to have with Gabriel Attal what they could not obtain with Elisabeth Borne.

It is a subject of tension which remains unresolved: bonuses for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Police officers will not have the right to take leave between July 24 and August 11. Outside of this period, they can nevertheless go on vacation.

A bonus of 500 euros

Maximum 10 days between June 15 and September 15. As compensation, Gérald Darmanin obtained a bonus of 500 euros from Élisabeth Borne, which could be doubled or even tripled in the event of exceptional commitment. But a measure considered insufficient for the police unions.

“We hope that with Gabriel Attal, we will be heard,” breathes a trade unionist who was to be received on this subject by Gérald Darmanin on Tuesday. A day of mobilization is planned for January 18, led by a bloc of 13 organizations including the powerful commissioners’ unions and Alliance.

Will it be maintained? Nobody has the answer. One thing is certain, the police can take a breather. Their supervisory minister, acclaimed by unions of all sensibilities, is apparently guaranteed to keep his post, Place Beauvau.
