What do children remember later? Probably more about experiences on a family vacation than about the best day in front of the TV or with your cell phone. Finding the right hotel for the whole family is not always easy. After all, the needs of children, young people and adults often differ widely. The large travel and booking platform HolidayCheck has filtered out the best family hotels from more than 752,000 reviews from holiday guests. We present five of the award winners who promise unforgettable holidays for the whole family.

1. Gorfion Familotel, Liechtenstein

A royal holiday for the whole family: In the Principality of Liechtenstein, in the mountain village of Malbun, at an altitude of 1,600 meters, is the 4-star hotel Gorfion Familotel. Far away from mass tourism, right on the ski slopes. In winter, skiers can enjoy ski-in/ski-out, and in summer the mountain meadows are an ideal adventure playground for hiking and cycling. Youngsters can also let off steam in the swimming pool of the 48-room house and with the activities in the diverse weekly program.

For the little ones there is daily, professional childcare from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. (from baby age) as well as freshly prepared meals with vegetables and meat from the region. But the grown-ups are also pampered: in the wellness area and from the gourmet cuisine to a toque level. The Gorifon has been awarded the HolidayCheck Award for the second time in a row due to excellent reviews.

2. Pickalbatros Aqua Blu Resort, Sharm El Sheikh

The Egyptian seaside resort of Sharm El Sheikh is located at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula and offers year-round bathing pleasure – on golden sandy beaches with water temperatures of 23 to 30 degrees Celsius. A 15-minute walk from the beach on a cliff is the 4-star Hotel Pickalbatros with its 538 rooms. These are spread over several buildings and bungalows in an extensive garden area. The highlight for young and old is the huge aqua park with 20 pools and 62 slides.

Letting off steam is the motto here, and there is also beach volleyball, tennis, mini golf, a fitness studio and various water sports options. While the children can have fun in the playground and in the kids’ club with entertainment, parents can relax in the wellness area in the sauna, hammam or at the pool bar. Speaking of bars: there are a total of twelve bars and cafés in the resort. Guests rave about the feel-good character of Pickalbatros, the friendly and courteous staff and the good quality of the food. This not only earned the family hotel a 99 percent recommendation rate, but also an award.

3. Hotel Samerhof, Carinthia

The family-run 4-star Hotel Samerhof is located at the foot of the Austrian ski and adventure mountain Nassfeld in Carinthia. In winter, the ski and toboggan slopes are just a five-minute walk away and those who want can leave their equipment free of charge in the ski depot at the lift station. In summer, the family hotel has a private beach with a lawn and access to the lake on the southern shore of Lake Presseggersee, which is ten kilometers away. If you want, you can also use the hotel’s own bicycles instead of the hotel shuttle.

To do this, the children first have to be lured away by the numerous attractions: indoor climbing and play park, supervised children’s program, Kettcar track, playground with soccer field, XXL bouncy castle or heated outdoor wellness sky pool at a height of 15 meters. You should be back at the Samerhof by dinner at the latest, as it is highly praised by many enthusiastic guests. Afterwards, a children’s disco awaits the little ones and live music for the adults. Or everyone joins in on game night together.

4. Tui Blue Palm Garden, Turkish Riviera

15 villas, generously distributed in a palm garden on the coast: The 4.5-star resort Tui Blue Palm Garden is located on the Turkish coast between Antalya and Alanya, which is also called the Turkish Riviera. More specifically, it is located near Manavgat and Side, right on a long, steep sandy and pebble beach. Families and couples feel particularly comfortable here. The reasons: There is a spacious pool area with several slides. Private daybeds on the beach.

bA Turkish hammam, various saunas, three restaurants, four bars and an all-inclusive offer that promises treats around the clock. But the conditions are also fantastic for exercise junkies: the training offering ranges from functional TRX training and Zumba to sea jogging, outdoor cycling and yoga. Of course, there is also a huge fitness studio with the most modern equipment. This has, among other things, earned the resort a top spot among the award hotels. For many HolidayCheck reviewers, the time there passed too quickly. They would have liked to stay longer to try out everything on offer.

5. Familotel Sonnenpark, Hesse

Wonderful wellness hotel for families in Hesse: The 4-star hotel, run by Sandra and Marc Vollbracht, is located in Willingen in the Hochsauerland. As parents of two, they know exactly what children and parents need and love. It starts with swimming fun with an indoor pool for babies, kids and parents plus a 30 meter long family wave slide. And includes a daily program of games, fun and care for ages 0 and up that lasts up to ten hours a day (including circus, forest explorer, bee or pirate days).

As well as the exclusive spa area with panoramic sauna, steam bath, fireplace lounge, relaxation and relaxation areas for mom and dad, which is open until 10.30 p.m. (baby phones are also available). And it ends with the gastronomy with buffets at any time of the day and for all ages, which consist of top regional foods. The hotel guests particularly liked the excellent cleanliness and the price-performance ratio in the Sonnenpark. The designation of the 88 rooms and apartments with animal symbols is also well received. This means that even the smallest guests remember where they live.
