Bordeaux: a father and his son arrested for cannabis trafficking

The road of three cannabis traffickers stopped at the passage of the pass near Sare this Friday, February 4 in the early morning. It is in this commune of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques that the customs agents had set up a so-called “routine” control. And as often, the flair of the customs officers paid off.

Installed on a little frequented axis, they control a first car and its driver. He is in order and can take the wheel without being worried. A few minutes later, a second and then a third vehicle fell on the roadblock. Inside the second car, visited in every nook and cranny, the customs officers discovered a bag containing 20 kg of herbal cannabis and a few hundred euros. The driver, aged 45, sharing his life between Spain and Bordeaux, as well as the one driving the following car are immediately placed in customs detention. At the sight of the identity papers, the agents then discover that the young motorist initially checked is the son of the forties in possession of the drug.

Prolonged custody

Alerted, the Bayonne prosecutor’s office transmits the information to the Bordeaux judicial police (PJ) responsible for arresting the 22-year-old driver at his home in the Gironde capital. Friday, at the end of the afternoon, the police officers of the antenna of the Anti-Narcotics Office (Ofast) picked him up without the slightest resistance. The young man was taken into custody at the central police station where he found his father and their accomplice.

The Bayonne prosecution then divested itself in favor of that of Bordeaux, which is now following the investigations. According to any hypothesis, the drug was to supply resale networks in the Bordeaux conurbation.
