A decision by the Professional Football League (LFP) must be taken on Monday June 12, but the Girondins de Bordeaux are not determined to wait with folded arms. On Saturday June 10, the club announced in a press release that it had filed a complaint against Rodez, with the LFP, for practices “contrary to sports ethics”.
Since the last day of Ligue 2 and the interruption of the meeting between the two teams following the attack on Ruthenian striker Lucas Buades by a Bordeaux supporter on June 2, tension has remained high. The match was decisive for the Girondins – engaged in a distance sprint with Metz for accession to Ligue 1 – as well as for their evening opponent – in the fight with Annecy to avoid relegation.
The file was put under investigation by the disciplinary committee of the LFP because of the “seriousness of the facts” and the classification of the season has still not been approved. Should we inflict a defeat on green carpet in Bordeaux? Should the club be penalized with a deduction of points? Should the game be replayed, for example behind closed doors? For now, all options are open.
At 1-0 for Rodez, the score on the scoreboard at the break, the Girondins missed accession to the elite, where the Aveyron training escaped the descent.

Two days before the decision of the LFP, Bordeaux therefore decided to speak, estimating the emotion caused by the act of violence of June 2 “fallout”. He denounces, above all, his adversary: “On Friday evening and over the following days, RAF crews [Rodez Aveyron Football] have, moreover, put forward various elements which have proved to be false and contrary to sporting ethics, in particular concerning the hospitalization of the player who suffered the fall and the impossibility of resuming the match while the security conditions were gathered. »

Jurisprudence does not encourage optimism on the Bordeaux side: the latest incidents involving supporters and players have caused heavy penalties for the host teams.
